The Caframo Ecofans are a range of heat powered fans designed to circulate the warm air created by a wood or gas stove. These fans do not use any batteries or mains electricity.

They have a thermoelectric module which acts as a small generator to power the fan's motor. When this generator experiences a heat differential between its top and bottom surfaces, it pumps out electricity. The bottom surface of the module is heated by the base of the fan while the top of the module is kept cooler by the fan's top cooling fins.

INCREASE YOUR COMFORT
USE LESS FUEL
SILENT OPERATION

INCREASED EFFICIENCY
Warm air is circulated directly into the living area rather than having most of your stove's heat rise immediately to the ceiling, thereby increasing the heating efficency of your stove.

UNIQUE BLADE DESIGN
The unique anodised gold or nickel coloured blade has been specifically designed to deliver a very broad cross section of gentle air movement instead of a small cone of concentrated air.

EASY OPERATION
Ecofans start automatically and adjust speed with the stove temperature. As the stove heats up the Ecofan runs faster to move more air into the room. As the stove burns down and cools the Ecofan automatically shuts off.

COSTS NOTHING TO OPERATE
Ecofans use only the heat from your stove. The Ecofan is the most economical way to effectively circulate warm air. It does not plug in, uses no batteries and can be used where there is no electricity.

CONSTRUCTION
Ecofans are made from anodised aluminium that will not rust. Bi-metal strips in the base of the Ecofans help prevent the fan from overheating.

It is important to read, and follow, the instructions on the correct placement of the Ecofans to ensure satisfactory long term use and that your stove is working within the temperature range of 'best operation'.

We have had ours for nearly two seasons and it sits on the top of our Clearview 500 Stove. It circulates the heat through the whole of our house (4 beds) as long as the room doors are open. May seem expensive, but if you use it in conjunction with a clothes airer well away from the Woodburner, you can save a fortune by not using the Tumble Dryer!

I have a woodwarm flat top 12KW woodburner. It sits in a large recessed fire place with approx 18 inch clearance above and each side. The room is 3000CF in size. I note from one of your answers that the models range upto 8kw. Will the 810 or 812 be ok for my Woodwarm stove. secondly is operation in the recess ok? regards

Hi There,

You would need the 812 fan, this is designed for a larger output stoves.

We have an Ecofan which no longer operates. Is it possible to buy a repair kit to get it working again?

They do new motors, is it older than 12 months?

Is this fan suitable for a Conturra 556?

810 is suitable for up to 5kw heat output stove

812 is suitable for 5-8kw heat output stove.

You would need the 812 as the Contura 556 is 3-7 kw heat output.

As long as you have room to sit the appliance on the top of the stove and there is room for the blades to go round.

Hi, we have a Clearview Vision 500 low canopy, we're interested in an Eco fan however I'm not sure it will fit on the top of the stove as it says they should be positioned at the back. Can you confirm where it needs to be positioned, as it says in their instructions they should be placed at the rear of the stove. It's a lot of money if it's not going to work effectively. Can you clarify please...

Hi There,

No sorry it would not fit on the canopy.

Wendy

Wendy , Would a ecofan 800 work on my woodburner, although our woodburner is inset there is a ledge at the front which is big enough for the ecofan 800, The instructions say the fan has to sit at the back of a free standing wood burner, but would it still work sat at the front.

Hi There,

The fans do not work on inset stoves.

Wendy

We have a wood stove with oven above will the heat be enough to still be effective

Probably not, it would run slow because it is not direct heat.

I have limited space above my stove so my question is does the handle fold down or if not what is the total height from bottom to top including handle.

Yes the handle does fold down.

I can take measurements if you still need them.

Wendy
